Barbara Eskay (Burkhart)
BARBARA ANNE ESKAY
Barbara, 64, of McDonald, Mt. Pleasant Twp., died Saturday, March 24, 2018, in her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born October 1, 1953, in Crafton, a daughter of Margaret Capes Burkhart and the late Gilbert Blair Burkhart.
She was a member of St. Ann’s R. C. Church, which was very important to her. Barb was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. She was a person of deep faith who placed others before her always – whether as a nurse, when crocheting a gift for those she loved, or lending a listening ear, card or prayer to those in need. Her smile lit up a room and she was never lacking in them, through thick and thin. And while she loved the beach and the lake, her favorite place was always with her family and those she held dear. Her family has never known a stronger, more determined, or beautiful person and will continue to honor her memory every day.
Surviving are her husband of 35 years, John Eskay; children, Michael (Chelsey) Eskay of Pittsburgh and Krista Eskay of Pittsburgh; grandson, Gavin Andrew Eskay; brothers and sisters, Blair (Melinda) Burkhart of Avella, Patty (Bob) Lucas of Avella, Karen (Tom) Birdsall of Avella, Sandy (Buzz) Haught of Avella and Gil (O) Burkhart of Washington. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Burkhart.
Friends will be received Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 314 W. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald (724-926-2800). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Ann’s R. C. Church, Grant St., Bulger. Interment will follow in Independence Cemetery, Avella.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Susan B. Koman Foundation.
