DAVID L. FRYER, SR.
David, 75, of Oakdale, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, in St. Clair Hospital.
He was born November 28, 1943, in Sewickley a son Sidney and Blanche Custer Fryer, both of whom precede him in death.
Mr. Fryer was the former owner of Fryer Tire and had previously been employed at Alray Wholesale Tire and the Kehm Oil Company. In his younger years, he was a standout wrestler and an accomplished automobile racer. He was recently inducted into the Pittsburgh International Dragway Racing Hall of Fame and was named "Mr. Wrestler" in his senior year at West Allegheny High School. Later in life, he enjoyed watching his sons play ice hockey, walking with his dog Chewy and going to classic car shows.
Surviving are his three sons, David Fryer, Jr., Christopher (Raeanne) Fryer and Timothy (Marlo) Fryer; and four grandchildren, Malone, Alma, Larken and Leland. He is also survived by his brother, James (Peggy) Fryer; nephew, Michael Fryer and niece, Rebecca Greene.
Friends will be received Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. in the Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. 5000 Noblestown Road, Oakdale (724-693-2800). A memorial service will follow in the funeral home at 8 p.m.
