Obituary

Richard D. Pilcher, 89, of Oakdale, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020, in Canonsburg Hospital.

Richard was born on April 5, 1931, in St. John’s, Missouri.

Mr. Pilcher was a retired United States Air Force Tech Sergeant and a member of St. Patrick’s R.C. Church, Noblestown. In his free time he enjoyed working with the Oakdale Senior Center, North Fayette Seniors and enjoyed bowling.

Surviving is a son, Steven (Georgiana) Pilcher, step-son, Stanley (Linda) Richardson, grandchildren; Steven (Christina) Richardson, Ian Pilcher, and Casey (Shala) Burkholder, 5 great-grandchildren,numerous nieces and nephews and his special friend, Doreen Smettle.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Marguerite (Meyers) Pilcher (2016), step-son, Brian Richardson, and 1 brother.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Canonsburg hospital, especially the Intensive Care Unit, for their kind care, during his final days.

All arrangements are private and entrusted to Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 5000 Noblestown Rd., Oakdale (724-693-2800). Interment will be held at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.

My father Raymond B. Smith Sr. knew Dick from the senior center. They were friends who both served in the Air Force and it was their tradition to go have lunch together on Veteran’s Day. So sorry for your loss.
