Joseph A. Lapia Jr., 45, of Oakdale, passed away on November 5, 2020 at Canterbury Place, Lawrenceville, Pa.

Joe was born on December 12, 1974, in Pittsburgh, the son of Joseph A. Lapia Sr., of Collier Twp., Oakdale and the late Alice L. (Thomas) Lapia (2015).

Joe was a governmental Lobbyist, spending most of his time in Washington, D.C. When not working, he enjoyed golfing and watching different sporting events, and spending time with his best friend, Luke, his dog.

While Joe is now gone, he will always be remembered for his saying, “Good to go”. His saying describes the beautiful life he lived, filled with his loving family and friends, that will all miss him more than they can explain.

Surviving, along with his father, is his sister, Colleen A. Phillips Ball of SC, nieces and nephews; Jacob L. Phillips IV, James Maggi, Sheena Sollinger, and Alexandra Ball, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceding Joe in death, along with his mother, is his sister Lisa Marie Powell (2014).

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Montour’s Presbyterian Church, 3151 Montour Church Rd, Oakdale, PA 15071. All arrangements are entrusted to Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. and Crematory, 5000 Noblestown Rd., Oakdale (724-693-2800). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite pet charity, in memory of Joe.

It’s all good to go.

Uncle Joey,
I thought it was amazing of you to reach out to me as I got older, I am so happy you did. I got to know you and my family a little bit and that showed me how good of a person you were. I was very shocked and disappointed to hear what happened and I wish we had more time together. Micah and I will never forget you, rest peacefully.

Joe, you were the best of friends. Great memories from our time at PSU, and after school living in DC. Time and distance often got in the way once I moved away, but we were always able to meet back up and fall right back into place like the old days. DC, Dewey Beach, wherever we caught up, the brotherhood instantly was rekindled. You taught me a lot over the years, more than you probably know. Rest peacefully, brother, and keep a spot ready for us. We’ll all be up there with you sooner than we think...
