Alex Prevade, 82, of Oakdale, died peacefully in his home early Wednesday morning. His loving children were with him. Alex was born September 29th, 1938 to Peter and Eva Prevade and was one of nine children. His brothers: Donald, John, Paul, and Peter along with his sisters: Carole and Mary Arlene proceeded him in death. Alex leaves behind two other siblings: Patricia of McMurray and Janet of New Symrna Beach, Fl.
Alex was married to the love of his life, Patricia (Cookie) for 51 years. She passed away in 2014. Alex and Patricia also lost a son in 1973. His name was Peter, and he was 2 years old.
Alex leaves behind his children: Ann (Craig) Hennemuth, Alex (Sandi) Prevade, Angela (Gary) Jones, Danny (Jeff) Prevade and Lisa (Bill) Campbell. His cherished grandchildren are Amanda (Eric), Maria, Gabrielle, Alex, Jenna, Lauren, and David. His great granddaughter is Cora.
Alex always felt close to God and at the age of sixteen he left home to attend the Catholic Seminary in Mt. St. John, Dayton, Ohio. He wanted to become a priest having attended St. Patrick Church in Noblestown all his life. He eventually would leave the priesthood and join the Army. Upon leaving the Army, he met Patricia and the two started their family. Alex remained active at St. Patrick Church. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and helped with the maintenance of the cemetery for years. His employment was with McGraw Edison in Canonsburg where he worked constructing transformers. Alex was a family man and enjoyed just being with family and going to the many occasions that families have. He was a good neighbor as well. He enjoyed vacations in New Symrna Beach, Florida. He also was an avid Pirate and Steeler Fan and enjoyed watching the games with his dog, Molly.
We will miss him terribly. He loved us unconditionally. We look forward to being reunited with him again and his savior, Jesus Christ.
Friends and family will be received from 2-8 pm Sunday in the Thomas-Little Funeral Home in Oakdale, PA. (724-693-2800). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, Noblestown. Internment will follow there.

Ann, Alex, Angel, Lisa, and Dan I'm so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. He was a wonderful next door neighbor when I lived on Fayette St. I will always remember his smile and infectious laugh. What a great guy he was. I am keeping you all and your entire family in my prayers.

Alex was a good friend and a devoted member of the Holy Name Society and St. Patrick Church. Worked many fish fries with Alex and Don, it was work but we had a good time. Always enjoyed seeing Alex at church and we always greeted each other without fail. On behalf of my wife Barb and myself, please accept our warmest condolences. We are truly sorry for your loss

Thank you Bob! His faith was central to his life and he loved being a part of the Saint Patrick community his entire life. He will be missed.

Love, Elizabeth Shannon
