FRANKLIN D. BOMBARD
Franklin, 81, of Oakdale, died Wednesday, December 30, 2020, in Victoria Manor, Oakdale.
He was born January 7, 1939, in Fairmont, WV a son of the late Samuel and Maxine Shears Bombard.
Mr. Bombard was a member of St. Isadore the farmer Parish- St. Patrick R. C. Church-worship site. He was a Vietnam US Army veteran serving in the Armored Tank Division. He later was an Army Recruiter attaining the rank of Sargent Major. When he retired he had over 25 years of service to his country. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Kunigunde Leitel Bombard of Oakdale; daughters, Rita Rosenthal and Brenda Bombard; grandchildren, Roger (Cristie) Bombard, Justin Bombard and Kaela (Dustin) Kelly.
He is also survived by great grandchildren, Madison, Ricky and Abigail; one brother, Joseph (Marva Jean) Bombard and one sister, Alice McDougal.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Bombard; grandson, Richard Faessel and brothers, Samuel and Robert Bombard.
Friends will be received 10:00 a.m. – 12 Noon on Thursday, January 7, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon on Thursday at St. Isadore the Farmer Parish, St. Patrick’s R. C. Church, Oakdale. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Capuchin Franciscan Friars Province of St. Augustine, 220 37th Street Pittsburgh, PA 15201.
