Although just a sophomore in high school, I was allowed to go to the high school prom. My two older sisters, Holly and Brenda, still in high school, also had dates for the prom. We all got new dresses, new shoes and our hair done at a salon. Many pictures were taken before the event, mostly outside in the front yard. Holly's date came and there were more pictures before they left. Brenda's date came...more pictures. I looked out the bedroom window as I waited for my date...waited and waited...no date. Then there was a phone call. He was in a car accident and was at the emergency room. I cried. Norm was there that night, taking pictures like everyone else. He saw how upset I was and offered to be my date for the prom. Although I turned down the offer, (more concerned about the well-being of my date), I'll always remember his kind gesture that evening.
Norm also bought me my very first album that Christmas. "The Byrds". I learned every one of those songs which probably started my whole singing career.
Rest in Peace.

We were so saddened to hear of Norm's death. As both neighbors as well as parents from the Pleasant View and Moon Middle School years, we have fond connections to Norm. He will be missed, for sure.

We offer condolences to Norman's family. It is with great sadness that we heard of his passing. Many fond memories of our Duffer's Anonymous golf outings. Always looked forward to seeing our group for this once-a-year event. Great golfing, and then great dining following those 36 holes a day. May Norman rest in peace. Ron and Bea Shento
