David E. Snatchko, 71, of Carnegie, Collier Twp., passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021, in St. Clair Hospital.
Dave was born on October 20, 1949, in Canonsburg, a son of the late John Joseph and Emma I. (Brown) Snatchko.
Dave was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran and a retired foreman for Allegheny County Public Works. He was a lifelong member and the former Assistant Chief, of the Oakdale Hose Company. Although it had been some time since Dave wore his fire gear, he was always there to lend a helping hand to his brothers. Whether it was helping with fundraising events or just providing everyone with a good laugh. Dave loved his community and was proud to be surrounded and loved by so many. As strong as his love was for his community, the love he shared for his family was stronger. He was most proud of the life that he and his wife have created over the years. His pride and joy were his three special ladies in his life. Dave gave the perfect example of being a good husband, father, grandfather, and neighbor.
Uncle Dave as he was known as by many, was the fun Uncle to all the kids that knew him and was always the biggest kid in the room.
Christmas was his favorite holiday. Dave spent may years playing Santa Clause, going house to house in his neighborhood, visiting friends and family- he had more fun than the kids.
We will miss his quick wit, twisted humor and his infamous sarcastic eye roll.
Surviving is his loving wife, Dorothy (McGinnis) Snatchko, of Carnegie, daughter, Chris (Jim) Murtland, and granddaughter, Madison (Kyle Repine) Murtland, siblings; Mark (Arlene) Snatchko, Jeffery (Jennifer) Snatchko, and Ruth Ann (Alfred) Leonard and numerous nieces and nephews
Mr. Snatchko is preceded in death by his brother, John Snatchko, sister, Nancy (Bob) Hamill and, nephew Todd Hamill.
At the request of the deceased all arrangements are private and entrusted to Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. and Crematory, 5000 Nobletown Rd., Oakdale (724-693-2800). In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Oakdale Hose Company, 6111 Noblestown Rd., Oakdale, PA 15071.
