Obituary

William M. “Moss” Wauthier, 72, of Midway, passed away on March 6, 2021, in his home.

Mr. Wauthier was born on June 23, 1948, in Pittsburgh, and grew up in McDonald. He was a son of the late Lee and Isabelle (Couderc) Wauthier.

Bill was a member of St. Alphonsus R.C. Church and a retired Post Master for the Colliers, West Virginia U.S. Postal Service. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War. Bill enjoyed spending time with his fellow brothers at the McDonald VFW and somehow always finding time for a round of golf. His love for his country was outstanding, but his family was always first. The time he spent with his family, Bill cherished the most, each person held a special place in his heart.

Surviving are his loving wife, Sandra (Poznak) Wauthier, children, Emily (Dan) Schultz of Moon Twp. and Cory (Johnna McGivern) Wauthier, of Hickory, granddaughters, Kendra and Halle, siblings, L. Thomas Wauthier, of McDonald, Susan Wauthier, of New Wilmington, and mother-in-law, Dolores Poznak, of Midway.

Along with his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Ted Poznak.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 106 St. John St., Midway (724-796-3301).

Sandy,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I talked with Bill when Ted passed away. I remember the experiences we shared many years ago. Bill was a quiet,, kind and thoughtful man. He will be missed by all. He and Ted will be golfing and making holes in one up at the big golf course in heaven.

My deepest sympathy,
Jimmy Stewart

Sandy and family, sorry to hear about Bill's passing, we worked together at McDonald Post Office and he helped me get my full time job at Colliers, W.V. post office. We worked together many years and I was glad to see he finally retired to enjoy himself.

Deepest Sympathy.
Bill Miller

Sandy and family, I want to give my deepest sympathy for your loss. Bill and I go back to our grade school days. One memory that has stuck with through all those years was admiring the wax job on his dad's red and white '57 Mercury and being "cool" taping out the rhythm to the latest hit songs on the mailbox next to his house. Now that I think of it - - he was destined to carry the mail. Sincerely, Dave Howells
