Obituary

Charles L. Holland, 85, of Midway, passed away on March 26, 2021, in Premier Washington Health Center, Washington.

Charles was born on March 27, 1935, in Midway, a son of the late Henry and S. Elizabeth (Eastwood) Holland.

Mr. Holland was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and a retired mobile equipment operator for Weirton Steel for 40 years. Charles loved his community and the town he came from. He belonged to everything he could, including the Midway United Methodist Church, Midway – VFW Post 520, Midway Counsel Member and the Midway Lions Club. Mr. Holland loved being able to give back to his community, he did so by serving as a life member of the Midway Vol. Fire Department and a deputy constable. Outside of his community, Charles still found ways to be active, he belonged to the 25-year club of Weirton Steel and the democrat committeemen for Washington County, and he always enjoyed fishing.

Surviving is his daughter, Stacy (Larry) Campbell of Midway and April (the late Ron) Gardner of Cecil, sister, Frances Lamb of McDonald, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his loving wife, Beatrice H. (Markovich) Holland, and his sibling, Mrytle Holland.
